 Estimadas Redes nacionales de ONG y ONG de América Latina y el Caribe:

 A través del presente Boletín los estamos invitando a que puedan votar un delegado para América latina y un delegado para el Caribe ante el Consejo Consultivo de ONG para el Seguimiento de las Recomendaciones surgidas del Estudio de Violencia de NNUU.

 La información de los 12 candidatos presentados por América latina y 3 candidatos presentados por el Caribe ya está disponible en la Web de Redlamyc www.redlamyc.info. o puedes mirar  la misma al final de este correo.

 Les recordamos que el voto es únicamente a través de correo electrónico y se elegirá un/a candidato/a para América Latina y uno/a para el Caribe.

 PARA VOTAR UN CANDIDATO

 

1)      Solo pueden votar todas las ONG nacionales y Redes de ONG nacionales y regionales que pertenezcan a la región de América latina y el caribe.

2)      el voto se hace a través del envío de un  mail a la dirección gurises@gurisesunidos.org.uy

3)      .el mail en el ASUNTO  debe decir “elección de Candidaturas “

4)       En el contenido debe estar escrito :

 

a)      Que candidato de América latina y que candidato de el Caribe se elige

b)      el nombre de la ONG o de la red de ONG que manda su voto.

c)      Persona de contacto  de la ONG o red de ONG a la cual se la pueda consultar sobre el tema.

d)      En el caso de que sea una red de ONG, se debe explicitar cuantas ONG integran la red y cuantas están de acuerdo con los votos emitidos.

e)      En el caso de que sea una red de ONG y explicite el número de ONG que se suman al voto, debe existir alguna forma de poder confirmar esa información.

  5)       Otras consideraciones:

a.       Si una ONG se suma a apoyar el voto de la red a la cual esta integrada no puede además  emitir un voto en forma individual.    

b.       En caso que la Red Nacional no explicite el número de ONG que la integran, se tomara contacto con la persona para confirmar si ha sido un olvido o intencional. En el caso que sea intencional el voto vale como si fuera el voto de una ONG.

c.      Toda ONG o Red de ONG que haya  presentado un candidato/a, lo puede votar en la etapa de elecciones, ya que el haber presentado un candidato no elimina la posibilidad de votarlo después. 

 

¿Que se espera del Candidato/a a ser votado/a en esta instancia?

Miembros deben ser elegidos de acuerdo a los criterios siguientes:

• Compromiso para una implementación total de la Convención sobre los Derechos de Niños y Niñas y las recomendaciones del Estudio de la SG sobre Violencia contra Niños y Niñas;
• Conocimiento personal en advocacy y/o iniciativas programáticas sobre violencia contra niños y niñas incluyendo por lo menos una de las áreas (hogar, escuela, sistema jurídicos, comunidad, lugar de trabajo) encarado por el estudio,
• Representar organizaciones que están activamente involucradas en trabajar sobre la violencia contra niños y niñas y estén comprometidas al seguimiento del estudio;
• Puedan contribuir activamente al Consejo Consultivo incluyendo la participación de consultas por e-mail y reuniones ocasionales y tengan el apoyo de su organización para participar;
• Puedan comprender, comunicarse y escribir en inglés; el idioma de trabajo del Panel Consultivo de ONG

• Participación previa en consultas regionales y conducción a mecanismos regionales de seguimiento, si existieran
• Compromiso de servir como conexión entre las ONGs de la región y entre el las y el Consejo

Dear NGO national networks and NGOs in Latin America and the Caribbean

 Through this Bulletin we are asking you to vote for a del egate for Latin America and a del egate for the Caribbean to the NGO Advisory Council for the Follow up of the Recommendations of the UN Study on Violence.

 The information on the 12 candidates presented by Latin America and the 3 candidates presented by the Caribbean is to be found in the Redlamyc network.   www.redlamyc.info.  You also can read it at the end of this e mail.

 We would like to remind you that voting can only be done through e mails and one candidate for Latin America and one for the Caribbean will be elected.

 TO VOTE FOR A CANDIDATE

 

1)   Only the national NGOs and national and regional NGO networks that belong to the Latin American and Caribbean region may vote.

2)      To vote pleased send an e mail to gurises@gurisesunidos.org.uy

3)      In SUBJECT the e mail should say “el ection of candidates”

4)      In the content the following must be stated:

 

a)      Which candidate for Latin America and the Caribbean you are voting for.

b)      The NGO’s name or the NGO network’s name that is voting.

c)      Contact person in the NGO or NGO network to be consulted on this subject

d)      If it is an NGO network, state how many NGOs integrate the network and how many agree with the vote that has been cast

e)      If it is an NGO network and it is stated how many NGOs agree with the vote, there should be some way to confirm this information

   5)      Other considerations:

a)      If an NGO votes within its network, it may not vote individually.

b)      Should the national network not state the number of NGOs that integrate it, contact will be made with the contact person to confirm if this was intentional or not.  Should it be intentional the vote counts as one vote of one NGO.

c)      Any NGO of NGO network that has presented a candidate may vote for the said candidate in the election since having presented a candidate does not imply not being able to vote for him/her afterwards.

 

 What is to be expected from a candidate for him/her to be voted?

Members should be e ected according to the following criteria: 

• Commitment to full implementation of the Convention on the Rights of the Child and the recommendations of the SG’s Study on Violence against Children;
• Personal expertise in advocacy and/or programming activities on violence against children including at least one of the settings (home, school, justice systems, community, workplace) covered by the study.
• Represent organizations that are actively involved in work on violence against children and committed to follow up to the study;
• Able to contribute actively to the Advisory Council including participation in e mail consultations and occasional meetings and have the support of their organization for their participation;
• Able to understand, communicate and write in English which will be the working language of the NGO Advisory Council.

 Regional elements 

• Previous participation in the regional consultation and connection to regional follow up mechanisms, if existing.
• Commitment to serve as a liaison for the NGOs of the region and between them and the Council.

 Thank you for your participation and through it to guarantee that in a democratic and inclusive way, on a world level , persons will represent the interests and necessities of our regions.
