Dear Mr. Freyre,

 

On behalf of Aflatoun we are del ighted to invite you to attend the Launch of Aflatoun’s Campaign for Child Social & Financial Education. We would greatly appreciate it if you would join us from the 16th March, (evening only) for an inaugural dinner, until the afternoon of the 19th March 2008. 

 

The primary objective of the Campaign Launch is to provide a platform for partners, potential partners and stakeholders to interact and share information about Child Social and Financial Education. The formal launch of the campaign will be taking place on the 17th March. On the 18th and 19th March we will be working with Implementing Partners and other key stakeholders on a variety of issues rel ating to the theory and practice of Child Social and Financial Education.

 

Attending this event will be several distinguished guests and key note speakers, please see a copy of the enclosed Conference Programme for more details.

 

There are now over 170,000 children in 11 countries involved in the Aflatoun Child Social and Financial Education Programme. The Aflatoun programme has been devel oped on the ground in Indian primary and secondary schools over the last 17 years. The programme provides a balanced approach to Social and Financial Education for children aged 6 – 14. The Aflatoun curriculum facilitates children’s personal exploration, teaches them about their rights and responsibilities and hel ps them acquire practical skills rel ated to saving, spending, budgeting and financial planning. In this way, Aflatoun supports children in becoming socially and financially empowered citizens and better equips them to break their personal poverty cycle.

 

Over 150 participants from various organizations have been invited to attend the Campaign Launch on the 17th March. Amongst these organizations are our partners and potential partners from over 45 countries,  stakeholders representing multilateral organizations, governments, financial institutions, foundations and country based non-governmental organizations.

 

Aflatoun will charge a del egate fee for attending the Campaign Launch.  This del egate fee will include all meals, refreshments, hotel rooms and transport as organised by Aflatoun only.  Please note: Taxis will not be reimbursed by Aflatoun.
