Encuentran abajo información sobre el programa de practicantes que lleva a cabo el Grupo de ONG del seguimiento de la Convención sobre los Derechos del Niño en Ginebra. Si hay interés de representantes de sus coaliciones (vean lista de requisitos) se debe solicitar lo más pronto posible.

Dear Child Rights Colleagues,
The NGO Group for the CRC is once again offering the Professional Internship Programme to representatives of national coalitions and NGOs that lead the co-ordination of alternative reports to the Committee on the Rights of the Child.  The course aims to better acquaint participants with the work of the Committee on the Rights of the Child and the wider human rights system, in order that they can strengthen their coalitions' work in child rights advocacy.  The Professional Internship Programme is fully funded by the NGO Group and will last for a period of no more than seven weeks.  The internship programme is managed by the Liaison Unit Programme (LUP) within the NGO Group and based in Geneva.
 
Dates:    August 25th - September 20th. (The programme may last between 4 to 7 weeks)
 
Primary areas work areas:    
-  Committee on the Rights of the Child.  This area involves attending part of the Committee's session and preparing of reports for LUP.
- Research on a theme rel evant to the coalition, such as child labour or violence, in order to ascertain useful information and contacts for the coalition
- Human rights treaty bodies, special procedures and the Commission on Human Rights.  In this area the interns will meet with OHCHR staff members and attend meetings to be appraised of how the UN human rights mechanisms could be used to promote children's rights.
- Documentation.  Interns would have the opportunity to write some of their coalition experiences for wider learning.
- Networking.  A range of activities aimed at devel oping new contacts in Geneva and promoting greater regional collaboration.
 
Criteria for Participation:
    - Coalition/NGO currently coordinating the preparation of an alternative report the Committee
    - Highly recommended by the coalition or NGO
    - Proven track record in child rights work and in particular with a national child rights coalition
    - A knowledge and ability to work in the English language
    - An ability to work with minimum supervision and support
    - Computer skills.
 
The NGO Group for the CRC will finance air travel , accommodation, daily living costs, and health insurance.  Places are reserved for three persons.
 
Countries from whom application are invited  - Iran, Antigua & Barbuda, Bolivia, Croatia, Liberia, Bel ize, Panama, Rwanda, Botswana, Nigeria, Ecuador, the Philippines.
