These are the final regional consultations in the initiative to devel op global

standards reflect regional concerns and have a broad consultative basis. The
objective of the minimum standards initiative is to devel op, through a wide-ranging
consultative process, minimum standards for education that can be used as a
starting point for systems in crisis.
The first regional consultation-- the Africa Collective Consultation on Minimum
Standards for Education in Emergencies -- will be hel d next week in Nairobi
Kenya from January 21-23 and hosted by Care Canada (represented by Nancy Drost)
